Have you ever looked into your backpack, having your eye on a pen, reached in, but grabbed a pencil instead?
That was me this morning.
I don't understand how it happens. I had my eye on it. I intended to grab that specific pen. I suppose I didn't keep my eye on it at the last moment--i.e. the moment I reached for it with my fingers. Surprising just what a little inattention can do...

Interesting...we were just talking about something like this in my cognition class, the classic example of pouring orange juice in your coffee or coffee in your cereal. You know what you're trying to do, you know where everything is, but when it comes time to actually perform the action your brain goes to autopilot and messes up a bit.
Man, this post had me on the edge of my seat.
