Today, I was in Day Hall to drop something off on the fifth floor (don't ask me what). Since you go in on the second floor, the fifth floor is still 3 floors up, I decided to take the elevator. After waiting there about 10 minutes and watching it go to every floor except the one I'm on, it finally stopped and opened on the second floor. I stepped inside. Apparently there was another person (a rather plump old lady) in there who pressed "B" before me (which I didn't know why since I pressed "^" button outside of the elevator, so it should be going up, not down). Anyway, so I went up to the buttons and pressed "5", then I stepped back. Then the elevator started moving, 2...................................1..............and then all of a sudden, it sounded as if someone turned it off (like an engine shutting down). Uh oh, I panicked. I hate to admit it, but having one of your parents claustrophobic can sure do a lot of damage on you as well. What if I'm stuck in there? What if we run out of air? Nooooooooooooooooooo!
Thankfully, though, the elevator started to move again after about a minute and got to the basement. As the lady stepped out, I hesitated for a moment, and then stepped out after her.
"I thought you're going to the fifth floor," she asked.
"Oh..." I laughed albeit a little nervously, "I am."
Then I quickly walked down the hall before she had a chance to ask me another question.
